Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership.
Researching your lineage for an American Revolutionary War Patriot can be a daunting task, but the Towamencin Chapter, NSDAR, members are here to help. Complete a Pedigree Chart (PDF) to bring with you when you meet with the chapter representative.

There are a variety of resources available to you for lineage research. As with all research, keeping an accurate account or journal of your journey will assist you in preventing duplication. Here are several places to start your research.

- Genealogy books (purchased or borrowed by mail)
- Genealogical and lineage societies (National Genealogical Society, DAR, or SAR)
