Welcome to the Towamencin Chapter, NSDAR

We are the Towamencin Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Join us !

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization. Towamencin Chapter, NSDAR, was chartered in November 1954 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Our name comes from a Native American expression “two men seen” cutting timber near a stream. The Towamencin area is connected to an encampment of Washington’s troops and the burial of several officers there.

Please feel free to explore the activities of our members, read the names of our Patriots, and see what we are planning for the upcoming year.

We meet at 10:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month, September through June.

Please contact us if you are interested in attending a meeting.

We are always looking for new members!

The DAR is made up of women a lot like you, who come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolutionary War. Any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join.

Visit the NSDAR website for information on the membership process and eligibility requirements.

Any boy or girl under the age of twenty-two is eligible for membership in the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) who is lineally descended from a man or woman who, with unfailing loyalty, rendered material aid to the cause of American Independence as a soldier, sailor, civil officer, or recognized Patriot in one of the several Colonies or States, or of the United States.

C.A.R. serves children from birth to twenty-one, with lineal descent from a Patriot.

Visit C.A.R. website.

A Junior is a DAR member 18 years of age through 35 years of age.

Schools are the jewels of the DAR

DAR members are passionate about education through the promotion of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.), DAR Good Citizens, and Junior American Citizens; the provision of scholarships and awards to outstanding students; and the support of six schools through chapter and member donations.

Visit the DAR Schools for more information.
